HOBSPOT

A social networking mobile application

The Challenge

Hobspot is a social start-up from Melbourne, Australia. They came to us with an idea of creating a media platform that uses location-based services to connect users with like-minded interests. Their aim is to encourage social media users to find new and exciting people through doing the things they love. With a very little knowledge of how things works in digital world, we helped them by providing a guided workshop and consultation and they decided to work with us to help them shape their idea, design their brand and identity and develop a mobile application.

LOGOTYPE

We chose a lettering style logo because it conveys the personal touch and playfulness this tool provides.

Fun, inviting and friendly colors communicate the vision of Hobspot.

TYPOGRAPHY

The primary use is display use.
We focused on legibility
while deciding on a typeface.

A hybrid that combines modern propor-
tions with a geometric appearance and
big x-height for perfect legibility.

The Solution

We created a logo that reflects their social personality, a simple gesture of greeting someone, ‘hi’. We then proposed a strong and gender neutral colours that help them look attractive and stands out in the competition.

The mobile application is then designed using the agreed colours and look and feel. We worked very closely with the clients and also to make sure that the product is very user friendly especially to their target market. The product was then distributed to few contacts from them to test and submit feedbacks that we can use to help perfect the app. The app was launched in 2014.
